Rain! Aaah.. It brings so many varied reactions from different people. Totally different type of people. Each and every one of them! Generally, for people, it brings freshness, relief, happiness. A new beginning! An end to suffering.
I seem to agree with the latter. I think of raining as the nature's method of destruction and restoration. It rains to undo all the evil effects that humans bring upon this world. The rains kill people. It is a way of telling the people that our mother Earth can not support so many people exploiting its resources! There has to be a balance. And, hence, the nature does away with people and buildings to maintain this critical balance required for the nature to continue in an advantageous & positive manner. The rain brings relief because we had been oppressed by the extreme conditions (whether heat or cold). These weather conditions have been brought directly or indirectly because of the man's exploitation of the Earth's resources. This may also indicate why do we see irregular patterns of rainfall these days. This can be a way in which Nature is telling us that the usual rain pattern cannot undo the problems in the Earth! That we ourselves have to do the things ourselves. Or the rain will turn from its role of a "restorer" into "destructor".
For me, the meaning of rain has changed its meaning as I have grown older. When I was young, I used to enjoy every time rained to its fullest! I used to go and dance and do all those crazy things that children do. Or at least what children in our age used to do. I am not that sure that today's children do. But, that is a different thing and I shall come to it in a later post.
As I have grown older, the role of rains has changed from just mere relief to a graver role of a warning sign that i have mentioned earlier. It now just makes me wait for appointments, irritates me as I can't go out to do my jobs.
Sometimes, it still reminds me of my carefree childhood. But, the number of times that these memories come back dwindle in number...
I long to see how it will be when I get even more older...

Lets hope that it becomes positive!
